What are the Popular Products?
Popular Products are a selection of items you can purchase that match your search query. Unlike Google Shopping ads, this feature showcases a broader selection of products and retailers, offering more diverse shopping choices.
This feature provides shoppers with quick and helpful results. When you click on a product image, a side panel appears showing a list of retailers selling that item. From there, you can choose a store, and you’ll be directed to the product page on the retailer’s website to complete your purchase.

How do you track the Popular Products using Advanced Web Ranking?
In Advanced Web Ranking, you can monitor the presence of the “Filter by” Sidebar in SERPs for both desktop and mobile search results using the Google Universal search engine.
To start tracking these Google search engines, go to Project Settings > Search Engines and add them to your project.
When monitoring a Universal search engine, the positions of Organic entries alongside the URLs from Top Stories, Local 3-pack, Featured Snippets, People Also Ask, Images, and other types of results will be reported as ranking if found in the SERPs retrieved from Google. More information on Google's search preferences available in AWR can be found in this article here.
How are the Popular Products results reported in AWR?
When found in the SERPs retrieved from Google, the products featured within a Popular Products group are reported on the same ranking position since they’re part of the same search result element.
How can you identify the keywords that trigger Popular Products in AWR?
You can easily identify the keywords that have triggered a Popular Products group and track its performance in SERPs by using the SERP Features filter within the Ranking>Keywords report.
The SERP Features column displays the types of search results that appear on Google SERPs for each keyword, allowing you to quickly spot the presence of Popular Products results and other SERP features.
If the selected website (main or competitor's URL) ranks for a specific SERP Feature, the related feature icon is highlighted in green. If the selected website doesn’t secure the features present in SERP, the symbols will be blue.
How can your website get featured in Popular Products?
The Popular Products feature is a valuable SERP feature for businesses looking to increase their visibility in search results. This feature showcases a range of items related to user queries, helping shoppers quickly compare products, prices, and retailers. Appearing in this section can drive significant traffic to your site and increase sales. Here are some tips you can use to increase your website’s chances of ranking in a Popular Products result:
Upload Your Product Feed to the Google Merchant Center
Uploading your product feed to Google Merchant Center enables Google to extract detailed information about your products and display it directly in search results.
To maximize your chances of appearing in relevant searches, ensure your feed is accurate, complete, and regularly updated with the latest product details.
Use Structured Data Markup
Add Product schema markup to your product pages. This helps Google understand key details about your products, such as price, stock status, and reviews, increasing your eligibility for the feature.
Prioritize High-Quality Images
High-resolution, clear, and visually engaging images are essential for drawing attention to your product listings. They not only make your products more appealing but also help create a strong first impression with potential customers.
Showcase Reviews and Ratings
Collect and display customer reviews and ratings on your product pages. These not only build trust but also make your products more appealing to Google and shoppers alike.
Ensure Competitive Pricing and Accurate Data
Google prioritizes products with competitive pricing and correct details. Regularly update your product feed to ensure consistency with your live inventory.
Leverage Insights from Google Merchant Center
Use the Merchant Center dashboard to monitor your product performance, fix any issues, and optimize your feed for better results.
