How do you track a Buying Guide using Advanced Web Ranking?
In Advanced Web Ranking, you can track the Buying Guide results using the Google Universal search engine, for both desktop and mobile search results.
You can add these search engines for monitoring from the Project Settings > Search Engines section.
When monitoring a Universal search engine, the positions of Organic entries alongside the URLs from Buying Guides, AI Overviews, Aggregator Units, Local 3-pack, People Also Ask, Images, and other types of results will be reported as ranking if found in the SERPs retrieved from Google. More information on Google's search preferences available in AWR can be found in this article here.
How is the Buying Guide reported in AWR?
When found in the SERPs retrieved from Google, the questions within the Buying Guide result will be reported on the same ranking position since they belong to the same search result element.
In search results, users can expand questions to see answers or click the "More considerations" button to view additional ones. However, in Advanced Web Ranking, only the URLs of the initially visible questions are reported as ranking.
How can you identify the keywords that trigger a Buying Guide result in AWR?
In the Ranking > Keywords report, you can use the SERP Features filter to quickly identify keywords that have triggered a Buying Guide result and track their performance in search results.
In the filtered results, the SERP Features column highlights the features present on Google's SERPs for each keyword, making it simple to spot Buying Guides and other result types.
If the selected website (main or competitor) ranks for a specific SERP feature, the corresponding feature symbol will be highlighted in green. If it does not secure any of the features present in SERP, the symbol will appear in blue.
